The Home to Home Foundation was founded by Dr. Richard Silverman, a Waterbury, Connecticut-based pulmonologist. It is a non-profit organization established to enhance the quality of life for residents in long-term care facilities by providing increased human contact and social activities through volunteer programs.

The Home to Home Foundation

finds special events that will appeal to residents, and with time, positively influence residents’ life skills through renewed spirit.

Residents in long term care facilities often lose touch with the world outside of the institution in which they reside.

The Home to Home Foundation

endeavors to make communities aware of the people who are in facilities and of the attention and care that they need as well. Our goal is not to replace those special individuals who work endlessly and exhaustingly to provide the everyday care issues required. We are more than appreciative of the timeless efforts of the nursing home staff. We are here to help!

is a non-profit organization established to enhance the quality of life for residents in long-term care facilities by providing increased human contact and social activities through volunteer programs. As the population of Connecticut ages, more and more of its residents are spending longer periods of time in nursing facilities. Dr. Richard Silverman, a pulmonologist and founder of the Foundation realized, while working in area nursing facilities, that the first budget cuts always affect the recreation department. Dr. Silverman has made a commitment to finding areas of interest to these residents and providing them with personalized sources of stimulation. His vision is accomplished through volunteers who visit nursing homes on a regular basis and through donations of recreational supplies.
